I needed a mail box large enought to hold small packages and still look great. Placing it on top of designed cement post was tricky without a top bracket (not on 4x4's). Post is 8" round. However, I did install a short 4x4x12" post and pushed into the wet cement. Worked ok! The cement post will be grouped with two other post a little shorter and all will be covered with mosaic tile with landscaping around bottom.
