This hook has three parts: a threaded female mounting plate, a threaded male rod, and a threaded female end cap. The threaded rod has insufficient threads to securely screw into the mounting plate an/or the end cap. The result is as soon as you place a robe on the hook the thing falls apart. I ordered eight of these and needed to get a replacement order. Of the 16 pieces I received in total, nine were completely unusable and the remainder were somewhat defective. I ultimately epoxied the pieces together so they would not fall apart. Perhaps this was a manufacturing glitch but my advice is to AVOID this item. This item has the potential to be a good product but the vendor obviously does not care about quality control.
Although ultimately the look and funtionality of these hooks were just what I wanted for my walk-in closet, I was initially very disappointed when my 6 robe hooks arrived. There were no instructions, and it appeared that they would have to be attached from behind, like a cabinet door. So my boyfriend got a longer screw and cut off the head, screwed it into the robe hook, then "shaved" the tip so it could be screwed into the wall. When he started on the second one, the THREE parts of this little hook unscrewed!! Thus, making it very easy to install. So even if you have to get two pliars to turn these pieces to separate them, they do come apart. Just unfortunate that the very first one we tried was so tight it seemed like it was glued together! These are not large decorative robe hooks for the bathroom, but I think they are perfect for a short wall of robe hooks in my walk-in closet.
