Baldwin's solid brass, ball-bearing full mortise hinges are individually machined for precise installation and smooth movement. The hinges each feature two anti-friction ball-bearing assemblies that greatly reduce vertical and lateral wear. Hinges have a slight offset leaf for 0.062" clearance when leaves are closed and parallel. Three hinges are suitable for doors up to and including 7½'. Add one hinge per additional 2½' foot or fraction thereof. Optional decorative finials are available as accessories; button finial ships standard. Finials designed to thread into hinge barrel and are interchangeable. Available in three sizes: 4" x 4", 4½" x 4½", and 5" x 5". Be careful to order appropriate size hinge according to door width and height; see options to select size. Available in a number of durable Baldwin finishes; see options. Product finishes which are RELIEVED may vary in luster, hue, and appearance as a result of handcrafted variances in the final finishing step. Sold either as a pair or individually; see options. Notes:1) Because the hinges are individually machined to close tolerances, hinge leaves are not interchangeable with other pairs. Be careful not to mix hinge leaves during installation.2) Ball-bearing assemblies feature hardened chrome alloy steel balls and bearing races made of alloy steel, which is hardened and electroplated with a rust-resisting zinc-chromate finish. Testing indicates bearing races will eventually rust when exposed to outside weather elements.3) Recommended with doors equipped with door closers.
