I bought three of them for over my kitchen island. I have a high, slanted ceiling and did not want to use chain - I bought an extra stem for each light. The canopy did not have a "ball joint" for the slant so I did have to use one chain link. I did not expect this snafu, but the lights are wonderful and worth the inconvenience this missing info caused!

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I love the pushplates but would have expected there to be two plated screws to install the plates. Now I have to go ot the hardware store. Ridiculous.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend
