Solid construction from first-rate materials, not the cheap plated junk you see in most stores. I ordered two to hang a couple of old oriental rugs, partly to keep them from getting more worn, partly to dress up our nondescript stairway. They arrived quickly in perfect condition, included clear directions, and were easy to assemble and install. The hanger design complements the rugs perfectly and transformed the stairs into a decorative centerpiece for our home.

I have 7 or 8 of the 'medium' size silk rugs, average size being 3'x 6' (appx.). These are hand woven silk and have a hefty weight of 15#-20#. I had the "hanging sleeves" sewn on when I bought them and having brought them home now, these rods I find are above and beyond my expectations, especially from the aspect of strength, not to mention the nice appearance they provide with their brass sheen and artistic appearance. I recommend them to anyone who has these expensive rugs like mine, and wishes to display them, in the manner they should be, on the wall.

I would estimate that rugs going into the larger range of 5'x 8' or so, would be supported with no problem.

I purchased two of these vents and found the color to be off from what I expected. Still looks nice. The biggest problem is they are not sturdy enough to take the load when stepped on or certainly if a chair leg pushed on the decorative area. Also, edges are sharp and catch your socks easily. Next time I look for solid cast vent covers.
