This is a unique lamp in that it can be adjusted in several ways. Most swing-arm sconces can only be adjusted one way. It is well made and attractive!

I searched for 6 months to find the perfect wall lights to finish off my bedroom, once I saw these lights I knew they were the ones. I like the fact that they swing from the top instead of from the side, like all the other wall swing lights I had previously found. I also liked that they could be hard wired, which was very difficult to find in a wall swing light, most of them come as a plug in, with a rod to hide the cord. Which I feel is very tacky. Don't get me wrong these lights do come with a plug too and the tacky cord hider, but they have a hard wired option. The only thing that I was not too happy about was the screw you put on the bottom of the square wall holder to fill the hole where the cord hider would go. They should have some kind of finishing piece to put in there that looks a little better. No one really notices the screw anyway, but I know it's there. The price was also very reasonable! I would recommend these lights, they light up very nicely.

We ordered two of the 3-light models in brushed nickel with square diffusers. The lights are very attractive, a good weight and look wonderful in our bathroom. My only criticism is a quality issue with the diffusers. Most of them weren't cleanly finished around the bottom--there were thin bits of glass protruding below the bottom edges that should have been filed off at the factory. Also, one diffuser had a visible drip of glass on the inside, but we dealt with it by turning that side to the wall. Our electrician reported no problems with installation.

I bought the post and 5 wall mounts and I love the look. They are definitely sharp looking - higher in quality than others I have considered while going to many lighting stores. Norwell is a great name in Onion lights. This is the second home I have outfitted in these lights and I'm a bit of a fixtures snob!

The wall sconces are beautiful and were delivered in perfect condition. The accompanying shades were not as lovely. They are an ecru color with a white ribbon trim. Unfortunately, the company does not offer alternative colors so I am having new shades made.

This light would not have been my first choice but, as a contractor, the customer is always right and this was their choice. This light is not very well made, sort of flimsy and the fit of the product leaves a lot to be desired with corners out of square and glass that was too large for the fixture openings. After much too much "adjusting" the light was finally installed and my customer thinks it is beautiful. I'm just counting the days until I get a service callback due to a problem with the light. A cast aluminum post fitter would have been a better choice. In all my years in business, I had never heard of this manufacturer and now I know why. They will not be a choice of mine in the future. The service and shipping of LightingUniverse was second to none and I will definitely use them in the future. Their pricing even beat my local supplier!! Just steer clear of this brand of fixture...

I ordered 2 of these sconces to use in a bedroom addition. They had not arrived when the electrician came to finish his work, so inexpensive substitutes were put up in order that there would be something in place for the final inspection. When we got around to replacing the substitutes with the Maggi Swing-Arm Sconces we discovered that these sconces were not designed for easy direct wiring, moreover the quality is inferior to the much less expensive lamps($15 each!!) Price is not necessarily a good indicator of quality. We are using the less expensive sconces which have no swing-arms and find them more than adequate.

I searched for a product that would lend a classic feel to my white lamp posts. Every fixture I found was of good quality, but very expensive. I finally found your Onion Post Light, which was not only the excellent quality I wanted, but priced so reasonably, I immediately ordered two. When they arrived in the mail, I was thrilled to see the fine craftsmanship. They were easy to install, and look fabulous.

I bought two Norwood outdoor lights (one lantern, one doorway sconce) at a price at least 20% less than local lighting stores, and was charged no shipping & handling. I was very impressed with Lighting Universe and two of my neighbors will be ordering the products before fall. In fact, the whole townhouse community may become involved. Just be aware - the Bronze is a very deep dark bronze color, but beautiful.

I ordered these sconces to replace a pair I had bought at Lowe's only about a year ago, one of which had already become a dead soldier. They are obviously of much higher quality, and went in so easily that my son who installed them for me took a total of only about 20 minutes doing it. I only wish I had bought them first!

I was impressed with the quality of the materials -- it will probably last longer than the porch where I installed it!
The ease of assembly and installation more than made up for the relative lack of detailed instructions.
I would have liked to have seen the assembly instructions posted along with a description of the lamp so that I would have some advance knowledge of the scope of the project (which only took about an hour-and-a-half).
Although the glass globe was shattered when it arrived, a no-charge replacement was quickly sent and quickly installed.

We bought four of these in the rubbed oil finish for our living room and dining room. They are very nice and have performed well. One thing--on one of them, we had to grind down the glass to fit as it was too thick to set in place. Luckily, that turned out OK. Only other quibble, the glass is just a bit too short, so you can see the tops of the (standard size) bulbs. Other than that, these are keepers.

The electricians installed these as hard wire fixtures and they look very nice. I got the brown finish with the metal shades and they look very period in my 75 year old home. The screws the adjust the configuration of the lights are a little tricky, but I don't generally move them that much, so it isn't particularly an issue.

This light fixture had 5 glass panes. The fixture was not packaged correctly. It was just sitting in a box and the glass panes were loose. The box was not well sealed and had tears in the side. When I picked it up it just sounded like broken glass as the panes shifted around. I had to assemble this fixture which had no instructions. Fortunately the panes were chipped on the edges but not broken so I was able to make it work without a return. It was the poorest example of packaging I've ever seen.

Beware- although the name of this product is "Gun Metal", the color is not metallic at all. The picture in the catalog shows it metallic. Well, it's not. I would definately reccommend this product to others as I enjoy them in our new home and others enjoy looking at them.
I did however, have a hard time shipping to Hawai'i as at first the shipping was several times the cost of all of the lighting that I ordered until the salesperson helped me out a bit. Maybe with a President from Hawai'i, we can be recognized as a part of the United States of America and have shipping be more in our favor.
I am now searching for a ligh (6) to sit on a window sill to resemble a Gettysberg "friendship" light in windows to let the soldiers know that it is a friendly home to come to regardless of what side they were on North or South. Any answers? I'd like it to resemble a flickering candle, if possible.

This product has very poor construction, specially in the hinges, as soon as I had it installed the electrician was moving it sideways and it just fell in two pieces and stood there hanging by the inner wire and it was impossible to fix.

I suggest you buy something that doesnt need special museum attention or else you will end up buying more than one socnce a year like I will have to replace the damaged ones.

I spent a long time looking for this fixture. I wanted something with a nautical look, and wanted a fixture that would emit light in 180 degrees to light up a deck in our back yard. This one does it well! It is heavy, due to solid construction, and is actually designed for marine use. It has a gasket which seals it from the weather to keep the bulb dry. It is built so well I think it will last as long as the house, and look good the whole time.

The sconces arrived with one of them mis-aligned. Fortunately I was able to get the parts realigned without damaging anything. We knowingly purchased the polished brass finish despite the warning that Norwell will not warrant the finish from corrosion. I e-mailed Norwell customer support for suggestions on what could be done to prevent or slow down surface corrosion. I have been told that car polish or a clear lacquer would extend the life of the polished brass finish. Norwell's response provided no comment on what I had been told or offered any other suggestions.

Researched in many stores and all over the internet before we purchased the lantern. Quality of latern is very high and 'seeded' glass gives it a worn in look right out of the box. Weld points, thickness of metal and overall alignment and symmetry of construction is first class. While not Lighting Universe's fault, we did have to wait about a month for this to ship from the manufacturer. Lighting Universe's expected ship date was 'exactly correct' and we received it double packed in a large box in perfect shape. Lighting Universe continually communicated via email as to the status of the order which made the wait somewhat easier. Overall, well worth the wait and now sits on top of my Walpole Woodworkers azeck lamp post waiting for my custom sign to arrive for our Bed & Breakfast!
